Athens

We left Ibiza at 6am and arrived in Athens at 10pm. A long day of traveling once again left us tired and we spent the first night in Athens sleeping. At first, we hated Athens: it took forever to get into town from the airport, it is by far the dirtiest city in the entire world, and we had to walk through one of the toughest areas in the world to get to our hotel (bloody crack-heads and bums everywhere looking at us cross-eyed because we bath) However, we soon learned to love this place. Such great history and such great views from all over the city. Also, this city is so affordable! We ate authentic Greek meals for about 3€, 40min taxi was only 18€, and the prostitues outside of our hotel looked like they had to be really cheap. Our hotel had an outside resturant on the roof with a view of the Accropolis at night. The resturant served free water and seemed to like Americans, two firsts for Europe.  After only two short days in Athens we fell in love; we were willing to look past
all of the filth the city was made of to see a historic town that likes Americans. Next stop, Mykonos!
